Subject: Pretreatment Review of Industrial User Pretreatment Permit
Program: City of Albemarle (NPDES No: NC0024244)
Stanly County
Dear Mr. Plyler:
PERCS Unit of the Division of Water Resources has reviewed the Industrial User Pretreatment Permit (IUP)
modification submitted by the City of Albemarle for the following Significant Industrial User (SIU). The
IUP modification was received by the Division on January 3, 2020.
IUP # sIU
0003 1 Auria Albemarle, LLC
The review indicates, with the observation below, that the IUP is adequate and the minimum
requirements of 15A NCAC 2H .0905 and .0916 and 40 CFR 403.8(f) (1) (iii) are met.
1. IUP Transmittal: It appears that IUP became effective January 1, 2020, and our office did not receive
copy of the IUP until January 3, 2020. Please note that copies of all IUPs must be transmitted to the
Division for review 30 days prior to the effective date, per 15A NCAC 02H .0917(a).
Federal and State pretreatment regulations require the local delegated pretreatment program to
effectively control and document the discharge of wastewater from Significant/Categorical Industrial
Users to the POTW. It is the POTW's responsibility to ensure that these objectives are consistently met.
Thank you for your continued cooperation with the Pretreatment Program. If you have any questions or
comments, please contact me at (919) 707-3626 [email: Monti. Hassan@ncdenr.gov].
