This letter is provided in response to your correspondence dated December 16, 2019,
which we received on December 30, 2019.
As was reported at that time there was debris, paper towels and baby wipes in the
manhole causing a partial blockage. When this occurred we reported that there was a
total of 800 gallons of Sanitary Sewer Overflow (SSO) with 500 gallons overflowing into
Scotts Creek. After this incident occurred, TWSA took appropriate actions to remove the
debris from the manhole and had this section of sewer flowing back to normal within 25
minutes. This section of sewer was last cleaned on July loth 2012 and no problems were
found at that time.
Our staff continues to be committed to doing the right thing when we find a problem such
as occurred here. We will continue to make contact with your agency in a timely manner
to report an issue as is appropriate and more importantly we will work to mitigate the
impacts and solve the problem that are the source. We hope this is reflected in our efforts
to address this problem once the root cause was identified.
