Cause or Reason for the Upset/Spill/Bypass: On Tuesday afternoon on December 31, 2019, at 2:45 pm a mechanic discovered that an ash lagoon decant pump developed a pinhole leak on the discharge side of the pump. The ash lagoon decant flooded the pump room and overflowed the sump outside the room into a drainage ditch that runs along the road. From there, some of the decant flowed into a nearby storm drain.
