'['lie retaining wall has recently been described as "in a hazardous condition" by the Senior Inspector of the Rutherford County Inspections and Planning Department. In addition, the inspector noted that "tic only practical solution I see is complete removal and reconstruction under the design and supervision of a licensed engineer" (Copy enclosed). The attached plans provide an engineered solution on essentially the same footprint as the existing stricture. The seawall must also be removed and replaced because it has tailed as well and will not provide adequate support for the new retaining wall in its present condition. In addition to the information provided as requested in section 11 of the application, there are several photographs of the existing structure included in the package. "Chc Town of Lake Lure has given notice that the lake level will be lowered from early December until late January'. Mr. and Mrs. Abbott would like to take advantage of this opportunity and undertake this difficult project during this time period.
