The email is to inform NCDEQ staff and regional office of the effects of the rain event Friday December 13,
and Saturday December 14 2019.
Recorded flow from Friday to Monday morning totaled 5.415 MG, and another 0.706 MG on Tuesday 12/17.
Total rainfall recorded at WSWWTP was 2.5 inches of rain over the aforementioned period of time.
Effluent is cloudy and likely has poor treatment due to the high rainfall over the weekend. The water quality or
any possible permit violations is unknown at this time pending lab results WSWWTP operators worked during
the rain event to divert some of the flows to digester and manage the RAS and aeration to prevent loss of
aeration solids. Any violations associated with this event will be logged and documented on the monthly
eDMR.
There was no spills associated to the rain event at McCoy PS or WSWWTP.
