The facility has just begun the final clean-up phase. Production ceased at the site in December of 2009 and the site has been chemical free since January 2010. The entire area currently draining to outfall SDO-003 was pressure washed in March of 2010. The final site clean-up will include excavation and the removal of all existing piping that leads to SDO- 0003. The area will be graded so stormwater drains via sheet flow to a new catch basin and discharge pipe, which will serve as the new outfall. It is not anticipated that this change will introduce quality issues for the stormwater. The clean-up and subsequent excavation in this area will insure that the quality of the stormwater run-off from the site presents no issues. Valspar is working with a private consultant on this project. 'dve plan to begin breaking ground in this area of the site Septen Ner 3, 2010.
