On October 22, 1999, 1 met with you at the subject property. An evaluation of the stream features were
performed to determine whether the site would require compliance with the Neuse Buffer Rule. This
specific project is rclercnccd by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO-251.
The five features and two ponds represented on the Johnston County Soils and the USGS maps were
evaluated to determine their subjectivity to the Neuse Buffer Rule. It was determined as a result of the
site visit that there are five features depicted that are subject to the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive
Waters Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative
Code T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233).
These features are labeled as Channels A, 13, C, D, and E. There are three ponds in the immediate area,
one is located off property, one is subject to protection (your Pond A) and the other is isolates without a
channel feature and is not subject to the Rule.
This letter addresses only the applicability of the Neuse Buffer Rules. Thank you for your attention to
