There was no reining equipment observed on site and no evidence of recent/current mining activity. Followed trail of rock under silver hill rd to see if I could find evidence of surface waters. The trail just petered out... no surface waters observed. Quad maps indicate surface waters, but none evident. In DLR's files, a memorandum dated August 3, 1988 from Steve Mauney/Mike Mickey to DLR, a site evaluation is referenced, stating 'the water quality of the unnamed tributary to Buddle Branch has been severley impacted by previous mining activity.'. Currently, there is nothing in WSRO files at all regarding this site. Could not find current contact information. DLR files appear to show that DLR never approved application received in 1988 from Niagara Capital Corporation. Note in DLR file on 12/11/89 says Niagara CC no longer owner of site, and that application process would have to start over with new owner.
