Vulcan exceeded a limitation for a recent third quarterly sample at our outfall 001. As Specified in Section D of the NPDES General Permit we are giving notice. We have determined that do to the excessive rainfall events; also water from new stripping area that flows into the pit may have contributed. Water was affecting our operations so we had to discharge water from pit and during this process resulted in a spot more than 50 NTU's. Historically turbidity results show less than 10 NTU's. Additional sample was grabbed and has been analyzed; the turbidity results show less than 5 NTU's. Enclosed you will find two signed copies of the DMR, and the lab results for your files.
