Subject: Carolina Connector Intermodal Rail Terminal Sanitary Sewer Plan
Dear Sir/Madam,
Enclosed is a fast track application for the construction of a sanitary sewer for service to the proposed
Carolina Connector Intermodal Rail Terminal in Rocky Mount, NC. The project proposes the construction of
2400 linear feet of 8-inch sanitary sewer to serve the Administration Building and two maintenance buildings
associated with the new Carolina Connector Intermodal Rail Facility that is being constructed by CSX and
NCDOT. Discharge from the maintenance areas will be treated by an Oil Water Separator prior to
discharge into the sewer system. The 8-inch sanitary sewer has a minimum design slope of 0.40% and a
maximum slope of 0.50%, with drops installed as required by the design standards. This project will meet
the minimum design requirements for separation, utilizing alternative design criteria where wetlands are
within 50' of the sewer by specifying pipe meeting water main standards. The 8-inch sanitary sewer has
additional capacity for future expansion and development.
We are requesting approval for the installation of the proposed sanitary sewer. Enclosed is a check for the
fee and an original and copy of all submittal document's including the Fast Track Application, Flow
Tracking/Acceptance Form, and Site Maps (USGS and Aerial).
If you have any questions or need additional information, you can reach me at m5typulgkd1 emhr.corn or (614)

Thank you,

t certify to the best of my knowledge that the addition of
the volume of wastewater to be permitted in this project has been evaluated along the route to the
receiving wastewater treatment facility and that the flow from this project is not anticipated to
cause any capacity related sanitary sewer overflows or overburden any downstream pump station
en route to the receiving treatment plant under normal circumstances, given the implementation of
the planned improvements identified in the planning assessment where applicable. This analysis
has been performed in accordance with local established policies and procedures using the best
available data. This certification applies to those items listed above in Sections I and I1 plus all
attached planning assessment addendums for which I am the responsible party. Signature of this

Subject: CSX Carolina Connector lntermodal Rail Terminal fast track sewer extension application
Hi Brad,
We are reviewing the fast track sewer extension application from CSX. The proposed flow for this project is 8250 gpd
and will include an oil/water separator discharge to the sewer. It appears that a Rocky Mount employee signed the
attached FTSE form for this project.
We are not sure who signed the form for the City. We are just confirming with you the name of the City employee who
signed the formed, and that the City agrees to accept the waste.
Thanks Brad.
