4i. Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used:*
Underground conduit will be bored from existing electrical transmission lines to 45' vertical conduit bridge entry location at the north end of the new Rodanthe bridge. Construction Will
include 10' x 10' bore pits and transmission riser structures at the north end of the bridge.
The total proposed disturbance area for this utility work is outside of NCDOT right-of-way and is 3.7 acres. See plans for more details. Low-pressure tracked equipment will be used in
all sensitive areas to minimize disturbance. Temporary timber matting will be utilized for access by heavier equipment needed for boring the underground conduit. Adjacent wetland
areas will be protected by silt fence. No impervious surface will be added as a result of this utility work. Conduit and pipe for the underground bore will need to be laid out prior to the
start of boring. The area needed for layout is included in the limits of disturbance for the project.
Indirect impacts: potential rupture of drilling fluid through the soil.
Equipment to be used: heavy boring and plumbing equipment.
4j. Please upload project drawings for the proposed project.

la. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts in designing the project:
Specific measures include the shaping of the LOD to avoid as many wetland impacts as possible.
1b. Specifically describe measures taken to avoid or minimize the proposed impacts through construction techniques:
Specific measures include the use of temporary timber matting and the requirement that only hand clearing be used.
