The purpose of the evaluation was to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in Permit NC0026611. Chad Sutton, facility ORC, was present during the inspection. The facility is well maintained and records were organized and complete. A thorough check and maintenance of the entire plant to include oil, belts, grease and filters is scheduled twice a year, and the most recent schedule was completed in October. The grit and classifier system has not been in operation for approximately five months. The City is in the process of planning the replacement of the whole system. Also planned are repairs and part replacements to the two clarifers. A review of files for the last two years indicated one violation issued, a NOD in June 2018 for a weekly TSS limit violation. The Morehead City WWTP permit expired on July 31, 2017. The permit renewal is currently in draft form. The facility is compliant with NPDES permit NC0026611.
