Subject:RE: Request for infield modification for U-5846 Orange County
Hi Jerry. Happy Holidays! I have reviewed the revised plans. It appears as though the additional impacts will result in a
crossing at or near perpendicular in Zone One. The impacts appear to disturb less than 40 linear feet of riparian buffer.
Therefore, the proposed additional impacts will not result in a required revision or modification of Water Quality
Certification 20180791.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
Thanks,
April

Subject: Request for infield modification for U-5846 Orange County
Hi April,
Happy Holidays! As we discussed over the phone, the contractor for Project U-5846 in Orange County (NCDWR Project
No. 20180791) is having constructability issues surrounding the existing and proposed sewer line. In order to properly
install the new sewer line, the contractor will impact an additional 247.1 sf of Zone One riparian buffer. NCDOT would
like to request an infield modification to allow for the new impacts. I have attached a drawing highlighting the location
of the new impacts along with a drawing from the original permit. I have also attached a summary sheet with the new
impacts (in the Utility Construction Line) along with the summary sheet from the original permit. The new impacts will
not involve any increase in stream impacts nor any increase in wetland impacts. Thank you for your attention to this
matter and please call me at 336 451-6629 if you have any questions.
