Jones, Craven, Lenoir Counties 1
Dear Mr. Angst:
Mrs. Deborah Sawyer and I from the Washington Regional Office made field
determinations on August 9, 1999 within Lenoir, Craven, and Jones counties. All sites were rated
using the North Carolina Stream Rating Form to determine whether each site would be regulated
under the Neuse River Buffer Strategy. The following management sites were determined by this
office to be exempt from the requirements of 15A NCAC 213.0233: Protection and Maintenance
cfRiparian Bzjfers; 410364, 410371, 413119, 550462, 550194, 550097, 560083, and 410359
(southeast portion). Maps are included to clarify the exact location of each site.
Management area 560094 was examined and determined to be a stream, therefore, this
site would need to be managed in a way to protect the existing buffers in accordance with the
above rule.
