Our intent is to deepen the cove to allow for boat access and construction of a dock. The "centerline" of the proposed channel will need to run about 200ft. to merge with existing lakebed elevation of -8'0" below full pond. To allow a gentle slope up to surrounding shoreline the total disturbed area will be less than 1/z acre. We will use the excavated material to fill a fairly deep swale on our property about 400 ft. from the excavated area. After the excavated material dries sufficiently, we will grade and seed the area to blend with our existing fescue hay field. All work will be on our property. In accordance with the Shoreline Management Plan for the Yadkin Hydroelectric Project, the planned work must be done "in the dry", during a period when the lake is drawn down more than 8' below full. We have no way of knowing when that will occur, so we are asking for permitting now to be ready to work on short notice. We expect a very short window of opportunity.
