RE: Vulcan Construction Materials, LLC — North 321 Quarry
Permit # NCG020863
Caldwell County
Dear Mr. Smith,
North 321 Quarry is not currently active, as outlined in (NCG020000 Part III. 3. b.) "if permittee
has certified to DEMLR's Stormwater Permitting Program that all portions of the site has been
stabilized with ground cover". Vulcan requests that the existing permit be placed into Dormant
Site Status, since the Quarry is idle and site has been stabilized with ground cover. Also
indicated in Part III, "reduce BMP inspection frequency". Vulcan requests exemption from BMP
inspections, analytical, qualitative and visual monitoring. Vulcan will continue to pay the annual
fees. In the future, if Vulcan decides to operate on the site, a request will be submitted.
Sincerely,
Tony Johnson
Environmental Engineer
