Describe the attachments:
Revised permit drawing for water line relocation is attached. The revised drawing clarifies the proposed
construction and staging areas. The construction area is delineated as shown because we need to center the
drill rig on the HDD alignment as well as the HDD exit pit. Therefore, there is space needed to dig the pit in
front of the drill rig on each side of the centerline of the alignment (into the wetlands and towards the
centerline of the roadway). In addition, the Contractor needs access on both sides of the pits/drill rig for
equipment to facilitate the HDD drilling activities on the HDD entry side and pipe string on the HDD exit side.
The majority of the equipment including the pipe storage, recycling pump, generator, vacuum excavation
truck, etc. will be stored outside of the wetlands. It should be noted that all of these wetlands impacts are
temporary and will be repaired to existing conditions upon completion of the HDD installation and open cut
work. In addition, we have minimized to the extent possible the impact to the wetlands based on the location of
the HDD crossing to avoid conflict with the bridge pile foundations. Notes have been added to the attached
drawing to clarify the purpose of the staging area.
