SECRETARY Dear Mr. Stewart: NORTH CAROLINA DEPARTMENT OF ENVIRONMENT AND NATURAL RESOURCES RALEIGH REGIONAL OFFICE Neuse River Basin Riparian Buffer Rules Karoly Place/Optimist Farm Roa NBRRO 99-043 Wake County 'On Friday 19, 1999, I met with you at the subject property to conduct an evaluation of the stream features Y present to determine whether the site would require compliance with the Neuse Buffer Rule. This specific ` project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO 99-43. It was determined as a result of the site visit that the feature becomes a intermittent stream near the edge of the property and therefore subject to the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management ` Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code T15A:02B.0233 ' _ (NCAC 0233). `The preliminary plan received at the Raleigh Regional Office on February 19, 1999, delineates the required . ?, protected buffer area. The riparian area around the subject water body (located between lots 9 and 10) must be protected to avoid any activity that would result in water quality standard violations or disrupt the x tstructural or functional integrity of the riparian area.
