Subject: General Wastewater Permit Inspection
1001 Greenly Drive
Certificate of Coverage # NCG550915
Forsyth County
Dear Mr. and Mrs. Stevens:
On October 28, 2019, Gary Hudson of this office performed a Compliance Evaluation Inspection on
the wastewater treatment system at 1001 Greenly Drive in Pfafftown, NC. Mr. Stevens was
present during the inspection. Observations indicated that the subsurface sand filter was
operating properly. Mr. Stevens said the system never discharges. It was not uncommon for such
filters to be installed without a liner and/or with perforated pipes, so this is not unexpected. No
evidence of a discharge was observed during the inspection. Please note some of the other
activities that must be conducted and documented, in addition to the laboratory analyses required
if the system discharges, even if just after a heavy rain event:
• Septic tanks shall be inspected at least yearly to determine if solids must be removed, and pumped out
every five years or when the solids level is found to be more than 1/3 of the liquid depth in in any
compartment.
The tablet chlorinator shall be inspected weekly to ensure there is an adequate supply of tablets for
continuous and adequate operation. There were no tablets in the chlorinator during the inspection. Be
sure to order more tablets and replace them often enough to ensure continual disinfection.
If you have any questions concerning this letter, please contact Gary Hudson at (336) 776-9800.
Sincerely,
Doc uSigned by:
