r Dear Mr. Stewart:
On Friday 24, 1999, I met with you at the subject property to conduct an evaluation of the stream features
4 tlowwRD,
present to determine whether the site would require compliance with the Neuse Buffer Rule. This specific
project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBRRO 99-045.
It was determined as a result of the site visit that there are two features that become intermittent streams near
?¢ the edge of the property and therefore subject to the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters
Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code
T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233). In addition, the main stem of the creek (at the property line) is also subject
Y to protection.
- '` The preliminary plan received at the Raleigh Regional Office on February 19, 1999, delineates the required
T,f protected buffer area along the creek. The riparian area around the subject water body near the well site and
t i lot 27 must be protected to avoid any activity that would result in water quality standard violations or disrupt
" ) the structural or functional integrity of the riparian area. In addition, sheet flow from stormwater must be
maintained, to the maximum extent practical, through dispersing concentrated flow and/or reestablishment
'." of vegetation to maintain the efficacy of the riparian zone.
Thank you for your attention to this matter and if this Office can be of any assistance or if you have
additional questions, please do not hesitate to contact us.
