BOWMAN, PE 1010 Central Avenue, Burlington, NC 27215 Phone: 910-443-2082 Email: dbowman@atmc.net October 27, 2019 Mr. Dean Hunkele Water Quality Section NCDEQ 127 Cardinal Drive Ext. Wilmington, North Carolina 28405 Subject: Town of Shallotte- 12" WWTP Force Main Dear Mr. Hunkele: As you are probably aware, the Town of Shallotte has an existing 8" force main that runs into the west side of the WWTP and carries most of the flow from the Town. In order to reduce the significant pressures in that single 8" line, the Town is proposing a new 12" sewer force main that will parallel the existing 8" line. This new 12" force main will tie into the existing 8" line just upstream of the 6" force main that crosses US Highway 17 from Mulberry Street. All of the flow south of Mulberry Street will thus be routed into the new 12" force main. This new line will run parallel to the existing 8" line, up Mulberry Street Extension, and across the WWTP site to the existing flow meters at the WWTP. There will be no new flow into the WWTP, just a more efficient handling of the existing flow. Enclosed please find the following: An original and a copy of the Fast Track Application (FTA 04-16), 2. A check for $480, 3. A site map showing the location of the proposed sewer. Should you require any additional information, or have any comments, please call or email. Thanks. Sincerely, David B.
