In response to the Notice of Violation, the Town of Hertford will be enacting the following to
prevent future error such as this:
Unauthorized Bypass- The release was due to malfunctioning equipment. A new
Scada system will be installed the week of November 25, 2019. This will alert staff of
issues and failure of the system and prevent or notify of the possibility of spillage or other
detrimental occurrences within the WWTP system.
Permit Conditions- Training is being enacted by Mr. Dwan Bell, Public Works
Director. Extensive training will be given to all the staff and mandatory
certifications and hours are obtained and noted.
I am truly this has happened and the Town Council and myself will ensure that all measures are
taken to get the WWTP into satisfactory operating status and remain there.
