To date, we have not received the mentioned information regarding this project. Your application was not complete since the enclosed application form was not completed. This information is needed by DWQ in order for us to decide whether this project is approvable. I can be reached at 733-1786 if you have any question. Until this information is received, I will request (by copy of this letter) that the Corps of Engineers place this project on hold. This application for a nine-slip marina is based on Duke Energy and Federal Energy Regulatory Commission guidelines. The project is to serve the Windsor Point Subdivision, a residential community south of Mountain Creek, Lake Hickory, Alexander County, North Carolina. The intent of this facility is to provide nine small boatslips and boat launch designed to accommodate small recreational watercraft. The primary user of this facility will be homeowners who live in the Windsor Point community adjacent to the marina. The nine boatslips will be single loaded, configured in accordance with DRAWING NO. 298-97-4, attached. There are five finger piers three feet wide by twenty feet long and six finger piers two feet wide by twenty feet long. The docks will be commercial quality, designed by Floating Docks Manufacturing of Indianapolis. The galvanized truss docks will be decked with Trex, a premium decking product manufactured by Mobile Chemical, and will be floated on black encapsulated floatation by Formex. Piles will be telescopic steel. The boat launch will be cast in place reinforced concrete twelve feet wide, sixty feet long and six inches thick. We have enclosed drawings and maps pertinent to this project. To access the project, proceed north on Hwy 16 from Interstate 40 to SR 1135, go west to SRI 137, go west to SR 1124 turn left and proceed to Windsor Point Subdivision on the right. The project is located to the rear of lot 48. We request that your agency review the enclosed plan and advise our firm of any regulatory concerns, which you may have relative to this application.
