Describe the treatment process(es) for the raw water: Water is pumped to the plant from the Catawba river. Pre-Chlorine, Sodium Bicarbonate, and a coagulant is added before going into the settling basins. After going through conventional filters, post chlorine, phosphate, and lime slurry is added. It then travels to the onsite clearwells for disinfection. It then is pumped into the distribution system. 8. Describe the wastewater and the treatment process(es) for wastewater generated by the facility: Potable water is used to backwash the filters. It gets sent to the belt press for processing. All Sludge from the settling basins is sent to the belt press for processing. The wastewater from this process is sent into the sanitary sewer system. 9.
