Dear Mr. Reynolds:
On November 30, 2006, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your Mitigation Feasibility Study
for the South Wake Landfill. This study relates to your proposal to pursue stream restoration at an
unnamed tributary to Little Branch in the vicinity of the South Wake Landfill. DWQ endorses the
mitigation concepts discussed in a field review of the site on November 29, 2006. Please note that a
detailed mitigation plan for this site will be necessary for us to complete our review of your application in
accordance with 15A NCAC 2H .0506. Please note that your application will be considered complete
upon receipt of the final mitigation package in this office, and will remain on hold until that time.
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters
or protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not
authorized (at this time) by the DWQ. Please call Ms. Cyndi Karoly at 919-733-1786 if you have any
questions regarding or would like to set up a meeting to discuss this matter.
