Ms. Homewood,
Please find the attached revised plan for the perched culvert with the High Hampton redevelopment project
(DWR # 20180765). The revised plan shows the culvert will be embedded into the stream utilizing step pools
to attain the elevation drop necessary for low flow passage of water and aquatic life. Please let me know if
you have any questions.
Thank you,

Anna,
The Division received your response to item #2 of our request for more information dated August 15, 2019 and provides
the following comments:
Standard requirements for issuance of 401 Water Quality Certifications are that "the placement of culverts shall be
below the elevation of the streambed by one foot for all culverts with a diameter greater than 48 inches, and 20% of the
culverts having a diameter less than or equal to 48 inches to allow for low flow passage of water and aquatic life".
The plans provided do not meet this requirement as the culvert will remain perched by 9 inches. Please provide a
response that provides compliance with this requirement.
Please note that the Division considers this application on hold until receipt of a response to Item #1 in our letter dated
August 15, 2019
Thanks,
Sue Homewood
