Do not click links or open attachments unless you verify. Send all suspicious email as an attachment to report. spa m@nc.gov<mailto:report. spa m@nc.gov> Brian, I have had a chance to review the dredging proposal in Southport and need clarification on a couple items. 1. NW 35 only permits dredging to controlling water depths. In this case please place your dredge box over the sounding survey to determine what the controlling dredge depth would be. If this changes the amount of material proposed to be removed please make adjustments in the PCN through the supplemental submittal. Also please correct the typical dredge profile if it changes. 2. There is a statement in the PCN that says adequate storage is available at the dredge disposal location. Typically the Ferry Division provides the latest survey of the disposal site demonstrating adequate space is available not only for the material but for the water generated during the dredge process. Please provide the latest capacity number for the disposal site. 3. Finally, the PCN states that dredging would not begin until January 2020. Just a reminder you will have the same moratorium period as the previous dredging approval February 1 to November 15. By starting the dredging so late you are limiting yourself to 30 days to complete the activity. If you have any questions regarding these items please don't hesitate to give me a call, Brad -----Original Message ----- From: Doliber, Brian C [mailto:bcdoliber@ncdot.gov] Sent: Tuesday, November 12, 2019 3:54 PM To: Shaver, Brad E CIV USARMY CESAW (USA) <Brad.E.Shaver@usace.army.mil>; Steenhuis, Joanne <joanne.steenhuis@ncdenr.gov> Cc: Winslow, Lancelot D <Iwinslow@ncdot.gov> Subject: [Non-DoD Source] Southport Ferry Basin Dredging- January 2020 Good afternoon Brad and Joanne, Please be advised that an EPCN has been submitted for dredging within the Southport Ferry Basin.
