Please provide a map with the mine site boundaries, wetlands, haul roads, conveyances such as ditches and swales, stockpile areas, pit areas and locations of monitoring wells. The map should show haul roads in and nearest access roads. An operation and monitoring plan should be developed that identifies the frequency of monitoring for the monitoring wells. Monitoring the wells would be advantageous during this inactive period since it can help establish existing conditions for this site relative to wetlands hydrology. In order to avoid unnecessary monitoring unrelated to the mining activity, you should notify this office immediately when mining resumes. Otherwise, all monitoring is still required regardless of active or inactive status of the mine.
