general permit. This permit is issued pursuant to the requirements of North Carolina General Statute 143-
215.1 and the Memorandum of Agreement between North Carolina and the US Environmental Protection
Agency dated May 9, 1994 (or as subsequently amended).

.1 have no concerns regarding issuance of this permit. I am assuming they weren't previously covered?
see that Valdese Weavers has three existing permits in Burke County, numbers 30, 73, and 364.
Also, could you please re -send the permit application? It didn't come through on my email.

We have received an application for coverage of an existing facility under NCG 17 from
Valdese Weavers, Inc. for their facility in Connelly Springs. The facility drains to a UT of
Drowning Creek (class WS-IV) in Connelly Springs (Burke County). This facility does textile
weaving and finishing. Does the Asheville Regional Office have any concerns about issuing
this facility a COC for this general permit?
Also, who are the new contacts for these industrial permits? I wasn't sure if Starr was back
from leave.

On July 31, 2007 the North Carolina General Assembly and Governor Easley put into effect a new
budget that included a 20% increase to all fees associated with Division of. Water Quality annual
fees, new permit applications, permit modifications, certi,flcations, and project fees. $I 00 is the
new permit application fee; instead of the former $80 application fee for General Stormwater
permits. If you are combining fees for different permits together, please resubmit the completed
application with a check for $400.
The Division of Water Quality attempts to operate in a fiscally responsible and efficient manner.
This increase represents the first change in fees since 1999 and reflects inflationary pressures over —
that time.
As of September 1, 2007, all permit fees collected must meet the legal requirements of these
changes.
