Glenn Avenue within the City of Winston-Salem. It was discovered on December 17, 2013, when our staff noticed that the water level in the pond had diminished. Upon further investigation staff discovered a small hole in the galvanized barrel pipe that allowed the water to bypass the concrete weir. We completed the repairs on 12/19/13 by removing all clay and soil material covering the barrel pipe. A piece of HD rubber matting was then stretched and banded across the top of the pipe to plug the hole and stop the leak. Borrow material was then placed back on top of the pipe and compacted to reinstall the cover over the pipe. The water is now refilling the pond to allow the vortex to function as designed.
