Attached is an NOI application from A-1 Sandrock, Inc for their C&D Landfill at the South Mine site in Guilford County
They've applied for coverage under the NCG13 stormwater general permit for the non-metal sorting/recycling activities
at the landfill
They discharge stormwater to Hickory Creek (Class WS-IV) in the Cape Fear Basin The NCG13 permit is being renewed
and will be effective June 1, 2013, so we'll hold issuance of the COC until that GP is issued around the middle of the
month
Sue, I think it would help for me to talk to you more about this site Originally they applied for the NCG02, but they
already have one of those for the mining discharges and were confused Also, it sounds like the NCG12 for landfills isn't
the best fit Their NO! description talks about removing metals and burying non-recyclables like paper, plastic,
sheetrock, etc (p 2) 1 think you all advised them on applying for NCG13 a while back, and maybe even after talking
with us about it I Just wanted to make sure I had all the history straight on this one Why don't you give me a call at
your earliest convenience so we can go over the details?
I'm in a meeting this afternoon but will be in the office before and after my staff meeting tomorrow (that's from 9-11 or
so) You can also try me anytime later in the week

Does the Winston-Salem Regional Office have any concerns with issuing a COC for this site? if we don't hear from you
in 30 days, the Central Office will plan to move ahead with a COC for this facility (by June 3, 2013)
