Greensboro NDC NPDES Permit No NCG080766, Guilford County Dear Mr Johnson A Compliance Evaluation Inspection was performed on the Greensboro NDC stormwater facility on June 7, 2011 by Sue White of the Winston-Salem Regional Office You and Jeanette Frazier were in attendance The inspection consisted of two parts an on -site inspection of the stormwater facilities and an in -office file review The following are the findings from the subject inspection I Permit The NPDES permit for Greensboro NDC became effective on November 1, 2007 and expires on October 31, 2012 Application for permit renewal must be received no later than 180 days prior to expiration date II Records/Reports The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP) was reviewed during the inspection The plan contained the necessary information required by NPDES Permit No NCGO80766 III Facility Site Review All stormwater conveyances and outfalls noted in the Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan were inspected and found to be satisfactory IV Effluent & Receivin., Waters Greensboro NDC discharges stormwater to an unnamed tributary to South Buffalo Cri ek Both analytical and qualitative monitoring are done from a collection pipe at the edge of the property During the inspection, this pipe was difficult to find The path to the outfall pipe should be kept clear of tall vegetation for ease of finding it and safety concerns Petroleum Bulk Stations and Terminals This is defined in part IV (definitions) of the permit as a single above ground storage container having a capacity of greater than 660 gallons or with multiple above ground containers located in close proximity to each other having a total combined storage capacity of greater than 1,320 gallons On your site there are two fuel storage containers, one 2000 gallon diescl tank and one 200 gallons unleaded gas tank These quantities require the Permittee to perform semi- annual analytical sampling for the parameters found in Table 4 (Section B) These results are to be kept on site for a period of 5 years To date, this sampling has not been done Within 15 days of receipt of this letter, please send us, in writing, the name of the lab you have retained to analyze samples and within 15 days of the first significant rain event following that, please marl this office a copy of the analytical results of the stormwater sample from that lab Part II, Section D requires qualitative monitoring on a semi annual basis, once in the spring and once in the fall These results are also required to be stored on -site for a period of 5 years Sue White
