Skvarla, lit Secretary Aana Taylor -Smith of the Winston-Salem Regional Office of the NC Division of Water Quality (DWQ) conducted a compliance evaluation inspection at the subject facility on 2 May 2013. Your assistance and cooperation during the inspection were greatly appreciated. An inspection checklist is attached for your records and the inspection findings are summarized below. The facility is located at 226 Watlington Industrial Drive in Reidsville, Rockingham County, North Carolina. Stormwater related to industrial activity is discharged to Little Troublesome Creek, which is currently classified as Class WS-IV (Water Supply) nutrient -sensitive waters (NSW) in the Cape Fear River Basin. Documentation and Monitoring Review The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SPPP) is complete and current. It was last updated in June 2012 and will be due for another update in June 2013, as required in Part II, Section A, Paragraph S of the permit. Qualitative monitoring has been conducted and documented as required. The Henniges Automotive facility has two Stormwater Discharge Outfalls (SDOs) at which qualitative monitoring is performed as required. Henniges Automotive exceeds expectations in terms of compliance. Additionally, the facility is currently certified for the ISO 14001 standard for environmental management. Henniges Automotive's dedication to compliance is highly appreciated. Facility Site Review The facility was clean and well -maintained. All necessary secondary containment is implemented as required. Both outfalls 001 and 002 were inspected. The SDOs were well -maintained and it is believed that the facility has minimized exposure of industrial activities to the maximum extent practical. No evidence of erosion or instability at the SDOs was observed. Documentation & Monitoring Review 3. The Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plan (SP3) is complete and current. The only discrepancy noted is that the certification page is signed by the consultant who wrote the plan, rather than an officer of the company, as required. Please correct this deficiency as soon as possible. Ali required inspections, monitoring, training, etc., was complete and current and Mr. Boone felt the SP3 has been well implemented. 4. Qualitative monitoring has been accomplished as required and no problems have been identified through the monitoring. No analytical monitoring is required. There are only two SDOs and both are located on the southern side of the property and drain to a large pond before being discharged into the receiving stream.
