V U 9 i DOC TYPE DOC DATE ❑ HISTORICAL FILE U-MONITORING REPORTS 0 01 009 is 31 YYYYMMDD Shelter Creek Quarry, LLC J Mr Bradley Bennett Storm Water Permitting Unit Supervisor North Carolina Division of Water Quality 1617 Mail Service Center Raleigh, NC 27699-1617 Dear Mr Bradley, Per our recent telephone conversation, I am submitting for the first time our quarterly Wastewater DMR As I mentioned previously, we had an outside testinglab to -conduct our testing and have found our discharge water to be in compliance with published Federal and State limits I have included discharge quantities per day commencing on January 6, 2008 through March 31, 2008 The reason 750,000 gallons continues to show as a discharge quantity is the simple fact that I designed the level spreader to discharge a set quantity of water per 24 hour period That quantity is in fact 750,000 gallons A copy of my level spreader design accompanies this report to show that no matter how much I pump to the level spreader lake, it will only discharge 750,000 gallons I can hold over 12,000,000 gallons of water in our level spreader lake, but it is limited to 750,000 gallons of discharge per day As you know, we have 21 computerized monitoring wells throughout our mineable properties and wells on the North and'West sides of our mineable property on NC state game lands I invite your attention to the fact that our lakes and water filled ditches are working as planned to keep water levels in designated wet land areas Also, the large level spreader lake is working to close circuit water to our main sump area and this fact can be proven by visually seeing water come to the sump area from the lakes as I had predicted it would by designing the lakes to be deepened to the top of the rock floor I welcome your comments, and we will continue to strive to meet our water quality requirements and exceed the quality if possible Respectfully submitted, ' Stephen Dorenda cc Ms Linda Willis fzr-lc :r AUG � B �048 �Y: Customer: SHELTER.
