Project: Bridge Replacement Webb Creek (B36) Date: 7/17/2019
Proposed Action: The North Carolina Department of Transpa tation (NCDOT) is planning a project to
replace Bridge No. 36 over Webb Creek (Webb Creek Road SR 1384). While replacement activities are
occurring the NCDOT will need to temporarily detour traffic in the area. To move forward with the
project a timber permit and right-of4ay approval will be needed by the Bureau of Indian Affairs (BIA).
Due to the need for federal approval, this project has been reviewed in accordance with the National
Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) and the National Historic Preservation Act. Environmental impacts
from both the timber removal and bridge replacement were considered as part of this review.
BIA reviewed and adopted supporting documentation, prepared by NCDOT, the EBCI Tribal Historic
Preservation Office and EBCI Natural Resources Office to ensure there were no extraordinary
circumstances in accordance with 43 CFR §46.215. All supporting documentation has been attached.
