The proposed 12'W x 8'-4"H x 60'L precast reinforced box culvert with standard wings will serve as a pedestrian connection under O'Neil Street in Clayton. The culvert will
connect the proposed Sam's Branch Greenway to the existing greenway. The precast culvert will reduce construction time/road closure time, and reduce design and
construction costs.
Stormwater runoff from the project site flows into Sam's Branch and ulitmately into the Nuese River. Impacts to water quality have been reduced by utilizing existing
stormwater conveyances and mimicing existing drainage patterns. Runoff from the culvert is captured on the low side of the culvert in an existing ditch. The 18" pipe system
outfalls (with rip rap outlet protection) in Buffer Zone 1 into an existing conveyance.
