Subject: Permit No. NCO02644P
Sludge to EQ
Siler City WWTP
Chatham County
Dear Mr. Green:
The Division received a letter from Cavanaugh `cQ Associates, P.A. dated October 26, 1999 regarding the
proposal to send thickened sludge to the equalization basin for storage. Staff of the Division's NPDES Unit and
Raleigh Regional Office have reviewed this request and found it to be satisfactory. No Authorization to Construct or
permit modification is necessary for this activity. This approval is granted with the condition that, should the subject
activity negatively impact treatment facility performance, it will be terminated and the situation rectified immediately
with appropriate steps taken to provide interim sludge holding capacity.
This approval does not affect the legal requirement to obtain other permits or judgements which may be
required by other State, Federal, or Local government agencies.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this matter, please contact Mark McIntire, telephone
number (919) 733-5083, extension 553.
Sincerely,
