The Hobson Road Concrete Plant project is a 4.99 acre commercial development with
the associated utilities and infrastructure. It is located along Hobson Road near the
intersection of Hobson Road and Scull Road in Hoke County.
The stormwater generated from the development will be treated through the use of a
wet pond located in the east end of the development. The wet pond is designed in
accordance with the latest NCDEQ MDC manual. The site is to be graded such that the
stormwater is transported to the southeast corner of the site and into the pond forebay.
The wet pond is designed to provide the required drawdown time in order to control
the 1-year storm. The pond reduces the peak flow from the development to less than
the predevelopment flows for the 1-year and 10-year storm events. Runoff generated
from the 100-year storm event will be fully contained within the wet pond. An
emergency spillway has been included for storm events greater than the 100-year
event. Runoff generated off -site that is not required to be treated by the proposed wet -
pond is to be diverted around the pond via a vegetated swale along the south property
line.
