Good afternoon Anthony/Emily,
As discussed last week, due to the geometry of the pipeline alignment, refueling of HDD drill rigs at 3
of our 7 HDDs are required to occur within wetlands:
1. HDD #1— Sta. 147+81
2. HDD #2 — Sta. 287+12
3. HDD #4 — Sta. 504+92

I have attached the 3 HDD drawing sheets for reference. Also attached is a fueling procedure that
will be used during all wetland fueling. During wetland fueling, both the equipment being fueled and
the fuel truck will be placed inside containment and a pre -job brief will occur prior to every instance
of refueling. With that said, Duke Energy requests approval to perform refueling in wetlands at these
locations according to the attached fueling procedures. Note, it is anticipated that each of the 3
drills would take approximately 1 week or less to complete.
