Durham County
I visited the proposed "channel improvement" located near Medford Road and
Cole Mill Road in Durham County. At your request, an evaluation was performed to
determine whether one (1) features, as indicated by a blue high lighter on the attached
map, would require compliance with the Neuse River Buffer requirements. (Please
note: this is the only feature that I reviewed). Feature # 1, as indicated on the attached
map, has no forest vegetation and is not subject to the Riparian Buffer Rule.
Please note, depending on the linear feet or acreage and the activity proposed,
there may be jurisdictional wetlands or waters which may require concurrence with the
Corp of Engineers. That is, this letter only address the applicability of the Neuse Buffer
Rule.
