RALEIGH REGIONAL OFFICE
Neuse River Basin Riparian Buffer Rules
NBR-RRO 110
Rowland Industrial Park
Rowland Road off Lichford Road
Wake County
On October 28, 1998, I met with you at the subject property to conduct a site visit for the above referenced
project. This project is referenced by the Raleigh Regional Office as NBR RRO-110. At your request, an
evaluation was performed to determine if the pond on the subject property would require compliance with
the Neuse River Basin: Nutrient Sensitive Waters Management Strategy; Protection and Maintenance of
Existing Riparian Areas, Administrative Code T15A:02B.0233 (NCAC 0233). It was determined that the
pond, indicated on the map, was constructed as a borrow pit and has no downstream feature. Therefore, this
e " pond is not subject to the Neuse Buffer Rules.
r
Perry Creek (to Gresham's Lake) is identified as water of the State and is located within this tract of land
in between Rowland Road and the Southern Rail Road right of way. The riparian buffer along this water
body is subject to protection under these Rules.

Alternate Members
A'team can have alternate/s and can bring them to the state Envirothon. However,
alternates cannot participate or confer with their team during the testing. If an alternate or
any other individual is observed assisting a team during testing or while walking between
stations, that team will be disqualified.
Typically, alternates from different teams are allowed to form their own team and
participate in the testing, This gives them experience and allows them to share in the fun of
participating. However, teams made of alternates are not allowed to place.
Visitors
Visitors are welcome to come and observe. Please contact Steve Bennett, Envirothon
coordinator (919) 5714700, so enough food can be prepared. All visitors will be given a
visitors ribbon for identification.
Meals
Two meals are provided during the competition, dinner on Friday evening and lunch on
Saturday. Meals are usually sandwiches and may include hot dogs, hamburgers, pizzas or
cold cuts. If anyone cannot eat the meals provided or have special dietary needs, they
should to bring their own food and cooler to store it.
Parking
There will be an area set aside for parking, and we will have someone directing traffic.
Please park in the designated areas.
Certificates
Certificates will be prepared for each participating team. Please, send the names of all team
members, spelled correctly, and the parental consent/medical information form as soon as
possible, but no later than April 1.
Motel Information
For those teams coming in Friday and are not camping, there is a list of motels in this
manual. Because there are often other events that may compete for area motel rooms,
please make your reservations early.
Camping
For this competition Cedarock Park allows free tent camping in designated areas. If your
team wants to camp at the park contact Phil Ross, Alamance Soil & Water Conservation
District at (910) 226-0477 by April 1.
