On August 17, 1998, I met with you at the proposed development near the
Junction of Hwy 64 Bypass and Liles-Dean Dr. near Wendell in Wake County.
At your request, an evaluation was performed to determine whether two (2) features,
indicated by a green high lighter on the attached map, would require compliance with the
Neuse River Buffer rules. (Please note: these are the only features that were reviewed).
Feature # 1 , as indicated on the attached map, is not a stream and is not subject to the
Neuse Buffer Rule. Feature # 2, as indicated on the attached map, is a stream and is
subject to the Riparian Buffer Rule (see attached map).. Accordingly, the existing buffer
will be required to be maintained as per 15A NCAC 2B .0233.
Also, in accordance with the rule, concentrated runoff from new ditches or
manmade conveyances must be dispersed into sheet flow before the runoff enters Zone 2
of the riparian area.
