The Division of Water Quality has reviewed your submittal for a 404/401
permit for pond creation in Rockingham County. Your application was not complete
since seven copies of the attached form were not included. Please provide information
regarding the location of your project. This information is needed by DWQ in order for
us to decide whether this project is approvable.
I can be reached at 919-733-1786 if you have any questions. Until this
information is received, I will request (by copy of this letter) that the Corps of Engineers
place this project on hold. Also, the project will be placed on hold for our processing due
to incomplete information (15A NCAC 2H.0507(a)(4)).

Planned Work on the Dewey Hopper Farm in Rockingham
County NC

An Earthen Embankment has been planned to be constructed at
the head of a channel feed by a spring and runoff during
storm events. A topography map to describe the location and
soils map are included. The impoundment will be used for
irrigation and trapping sediment. The soils map indicate no
hydric soils were mapped in the area of work. If hydric
soils do exits they occupy small areas and cannot be shown
separately on the soil map because of the scale used in
mapping. John Timmons, NRCS District Conservationist and
James T Burchette NRCS Civil Engineering Technician have
check the area for potential wetlands. In the area of the
seasonal channel less than .1 acre will be filled.
No cultural or historic areas were observed. No endangered
or threatened species are present in the area of fill.
