On August 8, 2019, personnel from the Asheville Regional Office with the Division of Energy
Mineral and Land resources, inspected the subject facility to determine if coverage under North
Carolina General Permit NCG200000 could be rescinded as requested. The Department has
determined that the industrial activity on the site will continue to impact stormwater runoff
exposed to the industrial activities or materials.
Your request for rescission of coverage under North Carolina General Permit NCG200437 is
hereby denied.

Inspection Summary:
On August 8, 2019, this facility was inspected in response to a rescission request. Please see the below findings
concerning the facility.
1. Scrap metal (mainly in the form of used appliances) is stored and exposed to precipitation at the facility.
2. Fueling areas are exposed to precipitation at the facility.
3. The primary use of the facility is a "transfer station".
4. The facility discharges into a drainage feature which discharges into an unnamed tributary of Long Creek (C;Tr).
In response to the above findings, it is the recommendation of this office that rescission of coverage under the current
General Permit be denied as requested, unless covered under an alternative General Permit.
