Dear Mr. Lee:
On May 12, 1998, I met with you at the proposed logging operation. At your request, an
evaluation of the stream present on site was performed to determine whether the site would require
compliance with the Neuse Buffer Rule Requirements. It was determined as a result of the site visit
that the water body present on the land that you intend to log is an ephemeral channel formed from
stormwater run-off. Therefore, it is not subject to the Neuse Riparian Buffer Rules, (Administrative
Code T15A:02B.0233).
This project has been referenced by this Office as NBR-RRO 03. Thank you for your
attention to this matter and if this Office can be of any assistance or if you have additional questions,
