Inspection Summary
Met with Andy for inspection. The site has not been inspected previous and permit requirements have been lost in history.
Reviewed requirements with facility representatives including sampling and SPPP.
The facility is very clean outside. Pallets are often stored outside on northside of property, but are very clean. The west side
of the property, wood material is blown into a trailer. Wood dust is around the trailers on the ground. Suggest improvements
of transfer so dust is captured. Next the trailers is a discharge of pumped groundwater from the shredder room. The
discharge appears clean, but may be picking up contaminants from the location. Adjacent to the discharge is the excess
glue box. Water out of this box is recycled, but there appeared to be not alot of freeboard. Empty totes are stored in this
location. There was a oil water separator that was clogged. A metal recycle bin is located in the vicinity. Other pollutant
sources are under cover in various buildings, but efforts should be made to ensure that leakages or spills are contained.
The site has a stormwater pipe system that needs to be mapped. Assumedly the system outlets to the eastern entrance
and that is identified as the sampling point.
The facility has plans of expansion bringing operations of Atlantic Veneer over in the future (2yr).
