Rocky River Wastewater Treatment Facilities
Iredell County
Dear Mayor Knox:
Final plans and specifications for the subject project have been
reviewed and found to be satisfactory. Authorization is hereby granted
for the construction of the 5.2MGD Rocky River Wastewater Treatment
(extended aeration) Facilities to consist of mechanical screening
including a static screen, an influent lift station with three (3) 4510
GPM screw pumps, duel aeration basins, dual final clarifiers, with
return sludge system, dual aerobic digesters, a chlorination disinfection
facility, cascade post aeration, automated flow measuring recording and
st-impling system, 2tandby power equipment, administration - laboratory
facilities, sludgy' drying beds, and appurtenances.
This is a Class IV Wastewater Treatment Plant and the operator in
responsible charge must hold a. valid Grade IV certificate.
This Authorization to Construct shall be subject to revocation
unless the proposed facilities, are construct(,d in accordance with the
approved plans, specifications, supporting documents, and are in
compliance with the conditions and limitations as specified in Permit
No. NC0046728.
One (1) set of` final approved plans and specifications is to be
forwarded to you, one (1) set to the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) ,
and two (2) sets to the Corps of Engineers. You will be notified by EPA
when to advertise for bids to construct this project. You are cautioned
not to advertise or initiate construction until so notified by EPA.
