This inspection was conducted to verify that the facility is operating in compliance with the conditions and limitations specified in NPDES WW Permit No. NC0000108. The findings and comments noted during this inspection are provided in the enclosed copy of the inspection report entitled "Compliance Inspection Report". The following item of significance was noted at the time of the inspection: It is recommended that the facility consider connecting to the adjacent Town of Rosman sewer lift station, decommissioning their wastewater treatment facility and rescinding their NPDES permit. This will eliminate the operation and maintenance costs associated with an aging facility and the environmental liability associated with an NPDES permit and discharge. Craig Hillyer (Plant Manager) and plant maintenance staff assisted with the inspection. The plant appeared to be operating adequately during the inspection, but many components have reached the end of their design life and are potentially in need of repair/replacement.
