Because it is discharging to the same waterbody, a modification to the Certificate of Coverage is not necessary. I will add the information to the permit COC file. We are planning to do some work on a pond at Martin Marietta's Benson Quarry (NCG020123). The project would create a pond overflow that would discharge offsite approximately 100 yards downstream of the current discharge, but it would not remove the existing outfall. All discharges from the proposed outfall would go through the same treatment systems as the current outfall with an additional clarification pond prior to discharge. The attached image shows the locations and coordinates of the current and proposed outfalls. Do you find this new outfall addition to be acceptable? Thanks, Phillip Phillip N.
