If what the Chattooga Conservancy says is true, the developer on the Cashiers Canoe Club project doesn't have satisfying
answers for some glaring issues relevant to protecting the water quality of the Chattooga. Between concerns about
Resource Waters erosion, leftover chemicals from the plastic plant, the near -doubling of human waste, an apparent lack
of planning for freak storm events-- It would be nice to know these issues have been addressed seriously before any
construction/demolition proceeds on wetlands around Cashiers Lake.
If the permit is approved, I hope the people involved will visit the river and appreciate its beauty! And that they'll
consider the potential impact to the forest and wildlife and those of us downstream. Thank you for hearing our
concerns.
